My name is Cody Stains and I founded Modern Fuel with a vision to make a positive impact in the world, and help everyone achieve any goal that they set their mind to. Throughout my life I have always been very observant, taking in the knowledge of strangers and using it to the best of my ability to further better myself in life. Meeting these amazing strangers over the past few years, through acts of random kindness and pure bliss has taught me one thing. Life is truly short and we only get one chance to live it, so grow, learn, share and explore all that there is in this world.

I have set out to pay forward what these strangers have given me. Through them I have gained strength to achieve anything I put my mind to. Through trial and error, I found my passion lies in fitness. I found helping others achieve their goals was just fulfilling as achieving mine own. Over the past years I have become a personal trainer, mentor, and a coach, continually learning and building my skillset everyday.

Time after time we strive to achieve our goals and we keep on pushing, climbing the stairs of life to the best of our ability. It can be mentally and physically demanding and Modern Fuel is here to help. I find accomplishment in life by seeing my clients and others succeed. This is why I ask only a few things from the amazing people I encounter. Throughout your journey in life, take the time to enjoy what you have accomplished whether it was big or small every step counts. Make everyday a positive day and support those around you. Desire: Step one is Desire. Before we can start our journey to transforming our body into the best it can be we have to desire an end result, or goal. You must envision what you want to become and where you want to be everyday in your mind. Even if you only think about it 5 minutes a day, we want to start everyday with a positive step forward in order to slowly progress towards our goal. Think of it as climbing a stairway you always use but in the dark. We may be discouraged by the darkness of what’s ahead, but we know there is always going to be that next step there until we reach the top. We can take this same mentality and use it in life. You have to believe that as long as you are headed in positive direction, you are making progress towards your goal. It may not seem like you are getting the results you want at first but if you stay focused on what you desire you will succeed. Without a goal what would we be working for? Think about what you want out of the fitness program. Is your goal weight loss, muscle definition, run a 5k or marathon? Whatever your desire is we will write it down!

Relate: Step two is Relate. In what way can you relate everyday activity to fitness? Think about things you do everyday that you can use to your advantage. Do you always look for the closest parking spot at your office building? Are you eating out for lunch when you could be packing healthy meals from home? Altering small things we do everyday, can drastically change our overall health. Take the extra time to park at the farthest spot in the parking lot, take the stairs instead of the elevator, these small tasks you do everyday will add up. These are only a few examples of what you can do. Think about what will help you get to your goals.

Embrace: Step three is Embrace. You have to embrace who you are and love you for you. Let us face it we all cant be body builders, everyone is unique in their own way some people were built to run and some are built to lift heavy weights. We all have the ability to reach our goals in life but we shouldn’t compare our bodies and who we are to others. You must embrace what your body transforms into and know that no matter what you’re working to be the best you can be for yourself. The key to fitness success is creating a healthy body that allows you to do anything your heart desires.

Action: Step 4 is Action. Although all 5 steps are important this is the most important when it comes to success, without action your thoughts and dreams will only ever be thoughts and dreams. You must put those thoughts into actions and wake up everyday taking that positive step towards your goals, the harder you work the faster you get to where you want to be. Sound intimidating? At first start slow so you don’t get discourage or overwhelmed. If weight loss is your goal and you feel that 30 minutes of cardio a day is too much, start with a something smaller. Begin the first week with 10 minutes of cardio a day, over the week you will feel accomplished knowing that you completed your 10 minutes of cardio everyday! Then the next week step it up and try for 15 minutes a day. Any step in a positive direction no matter how small will help you stay focus and on track to your big goal.

Maintenance: Step 5 is Maintenance. Congratulations! You’ve made it to your goal but it doesn’t stop here. So you got to where you wanted to be right? Now What? Well there are a few things you can do. You can maintain what goal you have reached or you can create a new goal or goals to further push yourself in life. Some people are content with the original goal that they have set and we are always there for you. You now have the tools and knowledge from your personal trainer that will help you succeed in anything that you put your mind too. So you have reached your goal and you want more, We can help with that too, You now have the fundamental skills and advance training techniques that will provide you with an endless amount of success in life.
